Bonnie at Recipes Happen has started Saturday Upsides:
A weekly opportunity to find the good in something that we maybe didn’t think was so good at first glance. Ever since she started Saturday Upsides, I’ve wanted to participate, but haven’t been too good at finding the upside –cranky CSAmom, 😦
But this week, I watched for opportunities and I found one. Thursday morning, my 11 year old daughter sat down to START her math homework, at the exact time she is supposed to be headed out the door to catch the bus. She had not asked if I would take her to school, so she could finish her homework. I had not showered. I had not finished my morning crossword puzzle. I was not happy. I hurried and got ready for work and I drove her to school, voicing my displeasure so she would not do that again- which she promises she won’t. The upside was, I got to work 1/2 hour early and was able to get a lot of work done before the phones started ringing. By starting early, the rest of my work day was a little calmer. But don’t tell my daughter that! 🙂
Haha… I like the last sentence the best!
I’m so glad you were thinking about this all week – that’s part of the whole idea! It makes me try to be more positive, too, because I have to share something!
Way to go! 🙂
