In May of 2012, I decided to subscribe to a local farmer’s summer CSA. I like the idea of Community Supported Agriculture; supporting small business and a local farmer. Also, I wanted to expand the scope of fresh produce prepared for my family of four. My goal is to provide most of the nutrients my family needs through the food we eat.
Each week I get a box of fresh (and mostly organic) produce. The challenge has been how to use all the produce – I hate waste! and learning what to do with new vegetables I had never seen before.
I have enjoyed the challenge and want to share my experience, hoping others will enjoy the blog and to encourage other CSA subscribers to stick with it
CSAMom
go csamom!
Thank you for the vote of confidence. 🙂
Becky and I shared a CSA experience a couple of summers ago. I was introduced to many new fruits and veggies. We enjoyed it very much! I look forward to seeing your recipes and especially love the photographs! Which farmer did you choose?
I subscribed this year to a small box from Schreiber & Sons. I signed up a week before both my husband and children went away for several weeks. Getting through a whole box by myself was quite a challenge! It is much easier now that the family is home. 🙂
